 Four dead, three injured and three missing – relief and rescue operations underway

CM directs district administration to provide all possible assistance to affected families

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has expressed deep sorrow over the collapse of the Lutti (Satbahini) Dam at village Dhaneshpur in Balrampur district. In this tragic incident, four people lost their lives, three were injured, and three are reported missing. The Chief Minister said this is an extremely painful and distressing tragedy. “I pray to the Almighty for peace to the departed souls and speedy recovery of the injured,” he added.

The Chief Minister said that due to heavy rainfall, this natural disaster has not only caused loss of lives but also damaged houses, destroyed crops, and led to cattle deaths. He noted that this situation is extremely difficult and painful for the affected families. He assured that the state government stands firmly with the bereaved families in this hour of grief.

He informed that district administration teams along with NDRF, SDRF, and local units are fully engaged in relief and rescue operations. Adequate arrangements have been made for the treatment of the injured, and every possible effort is being made to trace the missing persons.

CM Sai has directed the district administration to promptly prepare a proposal for sanction of ex-gratia assistance in accordance with government rules for the loss of lives in the incident. He instructed that temporary shelters, food grains, and other essential materials be provided to the affected families. He also directed that detailed surveys of house damage, crop loss, and cattle loss be conducted and relief ensured at the earliest.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is keeping a close watch on the situation and is fully committed to providing every possible assistance and support to the affected families.
